Moon Haven Happenings
In this latest edition of Moon Haven Happenings we talk about:
- Winter "Down South"
- Herbalicious and our newest soap Romance
- Bidding a fond Farewell to a Moon Haven member
- Universal Herbal Ointment saves the day with Chicken Pox
- Merribrook Retreats romantic getaway
- Hopping Good Health from Cowaramup Brewing Co.
Brrrr.. the cold winds of winter might have settled in but we have found that many of our Moon Haven Groupies have found it a great time to visit Moon Haven and the Magaret River Wine Region. On the many cloudless days down this way, the skies are the most vivid blue, the air crisp and the forests are alive with birdlife...even the wildflowers are starting to bloom. It is most definitely a wonderful season to explore our beautiful countryside.
We have had a wonderful time catching up with many of our long time customers... quite a few of them make their annual trip down south to get their Moon Haven fix and stock up on their Moon Haven essentials. We have had wonderful feedback about our new soapy additons- Herbalicious and Romance and those that have used the Salt Spa Sensation have come back for more. Of course Achy Breaky Rub and our herbal skin care continues to be included in most baskets as well.
On the home front everything is going well here at Moon Haven. Our Assistant Soapmaker Extraordinaire Ben has moved away to be with his lovely lady, Sarah...we will miss his cheery face around the lab.
Chicken Pox: Riley - son of our fab front of house gal, Sam I am, recently had the chicken pox... the first in the school to do so...needless to say the rest of Cowaramup Primary is dealing with a chicken pox outbreak!
Quite at wits end when good old calamine lotion and other pharmacy recommended remedies failed to help Riley's discomfort and itch Sam decided to try a little of MH's Universal Herbal Ointment . Aparently this has been absolutely marvelous. "Riley wouldn't have anyhting else on his scabs..apparently it helped with both the itch and the infection..now there is not a mark on him, not a scar" said Sam last week.
Accomodation down south: We felt very priviledged to be asked by Lorraine Firth to bundle together a great romance pack chock full of Moon Haven goodies for Merribrook Retreat's Romatic Getaway Package. Merribrook is a secluded luxury retreat surrounded by 160 acres of natural bushland and overlooking one of the most pituresque lakes inthe district. It is well worth a visit.
Hopping Good Health: After being approached by Claire from Cowaramup Brewing Company, Herb Girl, Stacey, and Mumma Duck, Leonie, have been formulating up a storm of hops based products. The hops are grown by Claire and husband Jeremy for use in their award winning beer...but Moon Haven managed to aquire some of this home grown aromatic herb famous for its ability to relax and assist with sleep. So watch out soon for our "Hops into Bed" sleep balm and "Hops into the Shower" soap. We are "hopping" to it as I type.
and don't forget that July sees the unveiling our very own Fairy Cave at our Moon Haven Cottage... we will have pictures and more in our next edition of Moon Haven Happenins..
until then live, love & laugh
Leonie, Eric, Chris and all the moon haven family including Scotty the dog... and yes we are still missing our dearly departed Sheila the cat.
