Named as one of the 9 sacred herbs of the Lacnunga. –a 10th Century herbal, Chamomile (Matricaria recutita)  tea was drunk by Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit to help calm his nerves after a bad day dealing with Farmer Brown.

Today it is one of the more commonly used herb teas - effective for soothing nerves, helping with digestion, calming  intestinal and uterine spasms and insomnia. With very few cautions (allergy to the aster family being the main one) it is one of the safest and most effective herbs to use throughout your life.

To make a tea just pour boiling water over 2 teaspoons of chamomile flowers, cover and let steep for 5 to 10 mins and then strain. A yummy and relaxing tea - use it at double strength if you are wanting to help with sleep.

Chamomile’s amazing skin soothing properties are employed in our After Sun Bath-Tea.  Just pop one of  these bath-tea bags under the tap as you fill a lukewarm bath and let the calendula, chamomile, lavender herbs and other goodies soothe you skin as you soak. Afterwards apply a little of  Moon-Haven’s Calendula, Chamomile and aloe vera packed Nature’s Own Moisture Lotion to any tender skin- your skin will feel much cooler and happier.
