Local business Moon-Haven Soaps, Lotions & Potions won the prestigious Family Business WA Award for First Generation Businesses at last weeks’ gala awards night held at the Art Gallery of WA.

 

Recognised for its family best practices and good corporate citizenship, Moon-Haven directors Leonie and Eric Gully attribute their success to the passion and integrity of each and every member of the Moon-Haven family.

 

“The Moon-Haven family is more than blood relations” according to Leonie ”each and every member of our staff, our willing band of advisers and our close business associates are all considered family members and are treated as such.  Their ongoing contributions to Moon-Haven’s planning and operations has been vital  elements in our success.” 

 

 Moon-Haven employs 11 staff including Leonie’s father and two sons, handcrafting and retailing a wide range of natural bath soaps, salves, and skin care products from their Cowaramup premises. 

 

“Winning this award is not only a win for us personally but for regional small business everywhere.  It just goes to show that you don’t have to be located in the city to achieve sound business results and be recognised for it.” Eric said.

Moon-Haven will go on to represent Western Australia in the National Family Business Awards next month in Adelaide, with the two other category winners Herdsman Fresh Essentials and Sadleirs Transport. 

Moon-Haven Soaps, Lotions and Potions has also been selected as 1 of only  6 finalists in the Micro business category of the Western Australian Telstra Small Business Awards which will be announced this week
